Helen M. Saxon, 90, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, October 11, 2014, at Mountain View Care Center, Scranton, where she was recently a guest.Her beloved husband was the late Thomas C. Saxon, who passed away on September 27, 2003. Thomas and Helen were blessed to share 55 beautiful years of marriage.Born on April 13, 1924, in Star Junction, Pennsylvania, Helen was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Thomas) Yanok.Helen was raised in Larksville and was a graduate of the former Larksville High School.Prior to her retirement, Helen was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry, working for various clothing manufacturers over the years. She held membership with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.Helen was a faithful Catholic and longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville, where she held membership with the church’s Confraternity of Christian Women. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.A wonderful homemaker, Helen enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and gardening around her home. In her free time, one of Helen’s favorite things to do was play bingo.Helen had a great love and devotion for her family and she cherished every moment she had with her loved ones. She always held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved spending time with each of them. Though her presence will be deeply missed, she leaves behind a legacy that will live on forever.In addition to her parents, George and Elizabeth Yanok, and her husband, Thomas, Helen was preceded in death by her brother, George Yanok.Helen is survived by her children, Thomas Saxon and his wife, Mary, Wyoming; Paul Saxon and his wife, Melissa, Shavertown; Elaine Chase and her husband, Charles, Warrior Run; Alan Saxon, Wilkes-Barre; Dr. Mark Saxon and his wife, Kathy, Lake Harmony; her fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Elizabeth Dudek, Larksville; Marie Zemanick, Wilkes-Barre; Eleanor Barna, Laflin; and Bernadine Moses, Jenkins Township; and several generations of nieces and nephews.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J.
