Helen M. Przewlocki, 91, a resident of Ashley, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, March 22, 2021, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Her beloved husband was the late John J. Przewlocki, who passed away on December 23, 2003. Together, John and Helen shared 53 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on November 22, 1929, in Ashley, Helen was one of seven children born to the late Harry and Sophie (Czajkowski) Penkrot. She was the last living child born of her parents’ marriage.
A lifelong resident of Ashley, Helen was a graduate of the former Ashley High School, Class of 1947.

Helen also managed the family owned and operated Przewlocki Grocery Store, which was located in the Carey’s Patch section of Ashley, until its doors closed in 1969.
A faithful Catholic, Helen was a longtime member of Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch.
Helen had many enjoyments in life, especially dancing with the love of her life, her husband, John; going to casinos; and watching sports of any kind. Above all, the greatest enjoyment in her life was spending time with her family, and she truly treasured every moment she shared with her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Harry and Sophie Penkrot, and her husband, John, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Leonard Penkrot; and her sisters, Regina Gomb, Irene Matukaitis, Rita Booke, and Gloria Deitz.
Helen is survived by her three children, Judy Drake and her husband, Paul, Larksville; John Przewlocki and his wife, Mary Jane, Mountain Top; and Cindy Chang and her husband, Peter, Mountain Top; her nine grandchildren, Megan Wimmer and her husband, Patrick; Elizabeth Drake and her fiancé, Kevin Pearce; Michael Drake and his wife, Blair; Alexandra Feifer and her husband, Kevin; Melissa Przewlocki; Jennifer Martinez and her husband, Michael; David Chang; Andrew Chang; and Gregory Chang; her seven great-grandchildren, Jillian and Blakely Wimmer; Logan and Madelyn Drake; Katherine and Brandon Feifer; and Lillian Martinez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
