Girard J. Coulter Jr., 78, a resident of the Hudson Gardens section of Plains, passed into eternal life on Friday morning, June 04, 2021, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.
His loving wife is Claudia (Campbell) Coulter. Together, Girard and Claudia celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on October 22, 2020.
Born on April 01, 1943, in Wilkes-Barre, Girard was the son of the late Girard Coulter Sr. and Helen (Litkowski) Coulter.
Raised in South Wilkes-Barre, Girard was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1962.
A United States Navy veteran, Girard honorably served his country as a Gunner’s Mate Seaman for nearly three years during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement in 2005, Girard was employed by the Pennsylvania American Water Company, and prior to that by the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company.
A man who relished the simple pleasures of life, Girard enjoyed tending to his yard and relaxing at home.
In addition to his parents, Girard and Helen Coulter, Girard was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.
In addition to his wife, Claudia, Girard is survived by his two sons, Kenneth Coulter and his wife, Paula, Columbia, New Jersey; and David Coulter, West Wyoming; his two granddaughters, Maegan Coulter and Addyson Coulter; his sister, Geraldine Simonton, Wilkes-Barre; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Blessing Service which will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 09, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, Pastor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Navy.
Family and Friends are invited to attend Girard’s viewing which will be held on Tuesday, June 08, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
