Geraldine M. Gulla, 81, a resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Friday, December 28, 2018, at ManorCare Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, where she was a guest for the past year.
Her loving husband is Thomas H. Gulla. Together, Thomas and Geraldine celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on June 3rd.
Born on February 05, 1937, in Larksville, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Andrew Bravyak and Amelia (Zalonis) Bravyak Yudichak.
Raised in Larksville, Geraldine was a graduate of the former Larksville High School.
Prior to her retirement, Geraldine was employed as a laundress by the former Leader East Nursing Home, Kingston. Following retirement, she was employed part-time at Burger King, Kingston.
Geraldine was a faithful Catholic and a daily communicant for many years. She was longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
In addition to her parents, Andrew Bravyak and Amelia Bravyak Yudichak, Geraldine was preceded in death by a brother who died in infancy; and her sister, Roberta Yarmel.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, Geraldine is survived by her three daughters, Deborah “Debbie” Kolendowicz and her husband, Gregg, Larksville; Denise Chorey, Dallas; and Susan Cheremsak and her husband, Andrew, Silverdale, Washington; her three grandchildren, Marc Kolendowicz, Christopher Chorey, and Amber Cheremsak; as well as generations of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at ManorCare Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, for the compassionate care they bestowed upon Geraldine during her time of need.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, December 31, 2018, at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
In keeping with Geraldine’s wishes, the viewing will be private for the immediate family.
