Geraldine “Gerri” Vinsko, 69, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday morning, January 05, 2016, at Celtic Healthcare Hospice, Inpatient Unit, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Her loving husband is Robert D. Vinsko. Together, Robert and Gerri celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2015.
Born on April 17, 1946, in Swoyersville, Gerri was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Kolanich) Mucha.
Gerri was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1964.
For many years, Gerri was employed by Goldstein’s Deli on Pierce Street, Kingston. Gerri later became employed by the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Wilkes-Barre, retiring from there.
Gerri was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville.
A woman of many enjoyments, Gerri especially enjoyed playing bingo, trying her luck at the Mohegan Sun Casino, and going out for breakfast. Her greatest enjoyment by far was spending time with her loved ones. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and each of them held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Gerri is survived by her daughters, Wendy Vinsko, Swoyersville; Leslie Hospodar and her husband, Chris, Swoyersville; and Jennifer Saltz, Forty Fort; her grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Carter, and Cole Hospodar; and Robert and Evelyn Saltz; her brother, Tom Mucha and his wife, Diane, Kingston; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Friday, January 08, 2016, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by an Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 271 Tripp Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Gary Mensinger, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Family and Friends may call on Thursday evening, January 07, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Parastas Services will be celebrated on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM, with the Reverend Gary Mensinger, officiating.
