George M. Small, 71, a resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal rest on Friday morning, March 3, 2017, at Celtic Healthcare Hospice, Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
His beloved wife of 45 years was the late Roberta M. “Bobbi” (Mahler) Small who passed away on January 16, 2016.
Born on May 07, 1945, in Hartford, Connecticut, George was the son of the late George M. Small Sr. and Katheryn (Szobocsan) Breen.
A United States Navy veteran, George honorably served his county for three years during the Vietnam Era.
Prior to his retirement, George was employed as a salesman in the automotive industry.
George was a member of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
An avid bowler, George participated in numerous bowling leagues over the years. He was also a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox.
George was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he relished in all of their accomplishments.
In addition to his parents, George and Katheryn, and his wife, Bobbi, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Small; and his sister, Rosalie Small.
George is survived by his daughters, Wendi (James) Shaver, Luzerne; and Heather Small (Raymond Wyberski), Larksville; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Jessica Shaver; Tyler, Chloe, Hunter, Mariska, and Michael Wyberski; his brothers, Charles and Larry Small; and his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend George’s funeral service which will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 07, 2017, at 10:30 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend Paul Metzloff, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingston, officiating.
Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Navy.
