Frank J. Curcio Jr., 72, a resident of Larksville, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday morning, February 15, 2021, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
His loving wife is Elaine M. (Opsitos) Curcio. Together, Frank and Elaine shared 43 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on October 29, 1948, in Wilkes-Barre, Frank was the son of the late Frank Curcio Sr. and Ida (Fumagalli) Curcio.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Frank was a graduate of the former Saint Mary’s High School, Class of 1967.
A United States Army veteran, Frank, and his twin brother, Samuel, were drafted into service during the Vietnam War. He honorably served his country for nearly 3 years, serving most of that time in Germany.
Prior to his retirement, Frank was employed as a supervisor for the Bridon American Corporation, Hanover Township. After retiring, Frank worked part-time for two years as a courier for the Law Offices of Dougherty Leventhal, & Price L.L.C., Kingston.
Frank enjoyed the simple things in life, such as fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, maintaining his lawn, cooking his famous Italian dishes, and sipping on a good wine or a Corona with lime. He also enjoyed his annual vacations to the Dominican Republic, and was known for his love of fixing things and in the eyes of his family, he epitomized the role of “jack of all trades.”
Family was the center of Frank’s life and he treasured every moment he had with his loved ones. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father, and although his presence will be missed beyond measure, there is much joy in knowing he is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved son, Justin, and all his family and friends who have gone before him.
In addition to his parents, Frank and Ida Curcio, Frank was preceded in death by his beloved son, Justin P. Curcio, who passed away on October 22, 2016; and his twin brother, Samuel Curcio, who passed away on April 17, 1998.
In addition to his wife, Elaine, Frank is survived by his loving son, Brandon F. Curcio and his fiancée, Rebecca Shovlin, Forty Fort; his mother-in-law, Helen Drugotch Opsitos, Edwardsville; and his many nieces and nephews. Frank was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild, a granddaughter to be named Isla Juliette Curcio, who will arrive this May.
