Frank C. Jacien, 94, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 22, 2014, at his home.
His beloved wife was the late Margaret V. (Shampack) Jacien, who passed away on September 09, 1986.
Born on April 10, 1920, in Swoyersville, Frank was the son of the late John and Johanna (Krystofik) Dziekan.
Raised in Swoyersville, Frank was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School.
A United States Army Veteran, Frank honorably served his country during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge on March 03, 1944, Frank attained the rank of Technician Fifth Grade.
Prior to his retirement, Frank was employed by the former Hazard Wire and Rope Company, Wilkes-Barre.
Frank was a lifelong member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of his church, he became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville.
A proud veteran, Frank was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
In addition to his parents, John and Johanna Dziekan, and his wife Margaret Jacien, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Edward Jacien; his sisters, Catherine “Katie” Ostrosky, Mary Maxiem, Josephine Dziekan, Stella Sincavage and Eleanor Washko.
Frank his survived by several generations of loving nieces and nephews.
The Family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses from Heartland Hospice for the compassionate and gentle care they bestowed upon Frank during his time of need.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, his Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army.
At Frank’s request, the viewing will be held privately for the immediate family members only.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
