Francis J. “Frank” Tencza, 81, a resident of West Wyoming, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.
His loving wife is Mary Ann Sadowski Bartashunas Tenza, with whom Frank would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 26th.
Born on October 11, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, Frank was the son of the late Victoria Kucza Tregaskis, and the step-son of the late Charles Tregaskis.
Frank was a graduate of the former Westmoreland High School, Kingston Township, Class of 1959. He later went on to attend Wilkes College, now Wilkes University, where he attained his bachelor’s degree in finance.
A veteran of the United States Army Reserves, Frank honorably served his country for six years with the Headquarters and Service Battery of 109th Field Artillery Regiment, Kingston.
Prior to his retirement, Frank was employed for many years as the chief financial officer for Royer Industries, at their former location in Kingston. After his retirement from Royer Industries, Frank returned to the workforce, serving as the controller for DelBalso Ford, Kingston, until his official retirement.
Frank was a faithful member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Plains Township.
A quiet and caring man, Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife and family; making home improvements – which he was meticulous at; and gardening around his home. Family brought Frank the greatest joy in life and he cherished every moment he shared with his loved ones, most especially his grandchildren. Although his presence will be missed beyond measure, he leaves behind a legacy of love that will be treasured by his family.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, Frank is survived by his five children, Christine Tencza, West Wyoming; Stephen Tencza and his wife, Carol, Franconia; Karen Ponton and her husband, Glen, Ontario, Canada; Lisa Berzenski and her husband, Bruce, Columbia, Maryland; and Kristin Bartashunas, Scottsdale, Arizona; his eight grandchildren, Christian, Noah, Victoria, and Ella Tencza; Samantha and Madeline Ponton; and Mary Beth and Marisa Berzenski; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Sadowski and his wife Marilou, Clarks Summit; and Ed Sadowski, Aiken, South Carolina.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 9:15 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township, with the Reverend Father John C. Lambert, his Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township.
Family and friends are invited to Frank’s viewing which will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
