Frances P. “Fran” Macy, 88, a resident of West Wyoming, passed peacefully into eternal life, surrounded by her loved ones, on Thursday evening, November 09, 2023, in the comfort of her home.
Her beloved husband was the late Joseph G. Macy who passed away on March 07, 2013. Joseph and Fran were blessed to share 54 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on April 01, 1935, in West Wyoming, Frances was the daughter of the late Martin Nocek and Anna Yurek Nocek.
Residing in West Wyoming most her life, Fran was a graduate of the former West Wyoming High School, Class of 1952.
Prior to her retirement, Fran was employed by Caribe Manufacturing, West Pittston, and, in her earlier years, was also employed by Enrico Bartolini Designs, Edwardsville, and Nelson Brothers Manufacturing, West Wyoming.
A pillar of Christian values and strong faith, Fran was a devout member of Saint Monica’s Parish, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming, where, throughout her lifelong membership, she was always ready and willing to help with any function in support of her church. Known by many within her church as the “Rosary Lady”, for many years Fran faithfully led the Rosary prior to the daily Masses.
Fran was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Charity and the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart League, and also served as a committee member of the Wilkes University Polish Room.
Fran’s trust in the Divine Mercy of Jesus and his most Blessed Mother was unbreakable, and her faith was not confined to the walls of her church – she lived her faith daily through acts of charity, love, and kindness. She fervently believed in the power of prayer, offering countless prayers for those most in need and, every once in a while, offering prayers for the players of Duke University’s basketball team – her all-time favorite team!
In addition to her parents, Martin and Anna Nocek, and her husband, Joseph, Fran was preceded in death by her brothers, Philip, John, Joseph, George, Peter, and Carl Nocek; and her sister, Blanche Diamond.
Left to cherish Fran’s memory are her two children, Linda Ciampi and her husband, Tom, West Wyoming; and Dr. Joseph J. Macy, Anchorage, Alaska; her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Heidacavage, Connecticut; Ann Nocek, New Jersey; and Theresa Mattie and her husband, Andy, Montoursville; as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Fran’s family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Fran’s dear friend and neighbor, Fran Krispin, for all she did to bring her peace and comfort during her time of need. They wish to also extend their gratitude to the nurses from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the wonderful care they bestowed upon Fran during her final days.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Fran’s viewing which will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
