Frances H. (Romanowski) Skiendziel, 87, passed into eternal life on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Haven Hospice within J.F.K Medical Center, Edison, New Jersey.
Born in Swoyersville, PA, to the late Stanley and Helen (Swaboski) Romanowski, Frances was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School. She was one of six children. Frances was married for 48 years to the late John F. Skiendziel, also from Swoyersville, and they moved to Elizabeth, NJ, and then to Menlo Park Terrace, NJ, where they raised three children.
Frances is survived by her son, Victor Skiendziel, and his wife, Evelyn, from Clifton, NJ; her son, David Skiendziel, from Jamesburg, NJ; her son, John Skiendziel, and his wife, Annette, from Hillsborough, NJ, her brother, Stanley Romanowski, from Sinking Springs, PA; her sisters, Alberta Kolojejchick, Charlotte Romanowski, and Mary Ann Romanowski, all of Swoyersville, PA; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Davies, of Swoyersville, PA.
A homemaker most of her life, Frances was employed by Pacon Industries, South Plainfield, NJ. She was a faithful Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Fords, NJ. Throughout her early years, she was a member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville, PA.
Throughout her more than 50-year residence in NJ, she always maintained strong ties to her family and her hometown of Swoyersville, PA, a place she truly held dear to her heart. She will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, PA.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 9:30 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, PA, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a memorial contribution in Frances’ memory to the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters, 450 St. Bernardine Street, Reading, PA, 19607-1737.
