Frances “Dolores” Havrilla, 95, a resident of Dallas, passed into eternal life on Saturday morning, January 14, 2023, in the comfort of her home.
Her beloved husband was the late Thomas C. Havrilla, who passed away on October 22, 1988. Thomas and Dolores were blessed to share 37 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on September 16, 1927, in Wilkes-Barre, Dolores was one of two children born to the late Joseph A. (Mihal) Michaels and Frances M. Kaplinski Michaels Tracy. She was the step-daughter of the late Walter Tracy.
Raised in West Wyoming, Dolores was a graduate of the former West Wyoming High School, Class of 1945, and the former Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, where, in 1951, she received her certification to practice as a registered nurse.
Throughout her career in nursing, Dolores was employed by the former Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston, and by the late Richard E. Crompton MD at his family practice in Trucksville. In her earlier years, she was employed by the former Columbia Hospital, Lancaster.
Dolores was a 30-year volunteer with the American Red Cross, primarily serving on its Bloodmobile. Over her lifetime, she selflessly donated 10 gallons of blood and was awarded a plaque for this great achievement.
A woman of strong faith, Dolores was a longtime member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.
In addition to her husband, Thomas; her parents, Joseph Michaels and Frances Michaels Tracy; and her step-father, Walter Tracy, Dolores was preceded in death by her only son, Mark Havrilla, who passed on August 08, 2019; her grandson, Jeffrey Havrilla, who passed on January 09, 2020; and her brother, John Michaels.
Dolores is survived by her niece and caregiver, Mary Ann Zagorski and her husband, John, with whom she resided in Dallas; her granddaughter, Tina Havrilla Smethers, and her children, Izuli and Brandan Jr.; her step-grandson, Christopher Lyons, and his children, Gabby and Violet; as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dolores’ viewing which will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Avenue, Dallas. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10:30 AM, with the Reverend Father Andrew S. Hvozdovic, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
