Florence A. Harbaugh, 84, a resident of West Wyoming, passed into eternal life on Tuesday morning, November 21, 2023, at Kingston Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where she had been a guest for the past 6 years.
Her loving husband is Donald Harbaugh. Together, Donald and Florence celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on October 1st.
Born on September 20, 1939, in Wilkes-Barre, Florence was one of three daughters born to the late Walter Ripka and Florence Wasick Ripka.
Raised in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, Florence was a graduate of the former Marymount High School, Class of 1957.
A homemaker most of her life, Florence tended to the daily needs of her family, and always made certain her home was immaculate.
Florence was a longtime member of Saint Monica’s Parish, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming.
Florence had many enjoyments in life, most especially cooking for her family, and traveling. She had a beautiful gift for conversation and could strike up a chat with anyone. Her family was the center of her life and she cherished every moment she shared with her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Walter and Florence Ripka, Florence was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Krasnahill.
Left to cherish Florence’s memory are her husband, Donald, and their two children, Donald J. Harbaugh and his wife, Robin, Edwardsville; and Cheryl Ann Lewis and her husband, Robert, Luzerne; her four grandchildren, Nathan and Adam Harbaugh, and Derek and Amber Lewis; her two great-grandchildren, Amora Lewis and Hendrix Campbell; her sister, Linda Price and her husband, David, Florida; her brother-in-law, Curtis Harbaugh, Edwardsville; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Blessing Service which will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 10:45 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend Father John J. Chmil, Pastor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, officiating.
Entombment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township.
Family and friends are invited to attend Florence’s viewing which will be held on Saturday morning, November 25, 2023, from 9:00 to 10:45 AM, at the funeral home.
