Elizabeth M. Murray, 81, a resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Friday morning, November 05, 2021, at River View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Her beloved husband was the late George P. Murray, who passed away on July 11, 2000.
Born on August 19, 1940, in Kingston, Elizabeth was one of two daughters born to the late Leo and Elizabeth (Konsavage) Sobeck.
Raised in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, Elizabeth was a graduate of the former G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, and went on to further her education at the former Wilkes-Barre Business College.
Prior to her retirement, Elizabeth was employed as a fabric inspector for Fortune Fabrics, Swoyersville.
A faithful Catholic, Elizabeth was a member of Saint Monica’s Parish, West Wyoming.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her stunning blue eyes, her generosity, and her love for cooking and preparing her family and friends their favorite dishes. Above all, she will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, most especially for her grandchildren – they were the light of her life!
The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Elizabeth during her time of need, especially her friend, Paula Lussi; Heather Rosa, Nurse Practitioner; the nurses and aides from Homebound Health, especially her nurse, Karen, and her nurse’s aide, Marsha; the nurses and aides from River View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially her nurse’s aide, Amy; and the nurses from Compassionate Care Hospice who made Elizabeth’s final days peaceful and comfortable.4
Elizabeth is survived by her four children, Suzanne, Swoyersville; Maureen and her companion, Nicholas, New York; George P. and his companion, Missy, Swoyersville; and Michael and his wife, Gina, Forty Fort; her four grandchildren, Jerome, Olivia, Gia, and Marissa; her sister, Mary Anne Segovia and her husband, Ric, Virginia; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Elizabeth’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 9:30 AM in Saint Monica’s Parish, 363 West 8th Street, West Wyoming, with the Reverend Father Peter Tomczak, her Pastor, officiating.
Entombment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the Denison Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Swoyersville.
There will be no public calling hours.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
