Eleanor R. Kerrick, 84, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Sunday morning, May 29, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Her loving husband is Edward J. Kerrick. Edward and Eleanor would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on October 10th.
Born on February 07, 1932, in Swoyersville, Eleanor was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Whitman) Jugus.
Eleanor was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1950.
Prior to her retirement, Eleanor was employed for many years by the former Sunshine Market, Wilkes-Barre. In her earlier years, she was employed by the RCA Corporation, Mountaintop.
A faithful Catholic, Eleanor was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne, where she held membership with the parish’s Altar and Rosary Society.
Eleanor enjoyed many things in life, especially bowling with her “Alley Cats” League at Chacko’s Bowling Center; trying her luck with the daily lottery, scratch-offs, and gambling at the Mohegan Sun or Atlantic City Casino’s; gardening around her home; and cooking for her loved ones.
Above all, Eleanor will be most remembered as a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Although her presence will be deeply missed, her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she held dear to her heart.
In addition to her parents, John and Veronica Jugus, Eleanor was preceded in death by her infant son, Edward J. Kerrick Jr.; her granddaughter, Lisa Korey; her brothers, Joseph, Edward, Leonard and John Jugus; and her dear cousin, Ann Shaver.
In addition to her husband, Edward, Eleanor is survived by her children, Patricia Falkowski and her husband, Norbert, Wilkes-Barre; Roseanne Gallagher and her husband, James, Luzerne; John “Larry” Kerrick, Dallas; and Judy Powell and her husband, Rick, Swoyersville; her grandchildren, Charles and Jonathan Makarewicz; Krysta, Sean, Gina and Gabrielle Kerrick; Jennifer Powell Costello and Stephanie Powell; her great-grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Korey; and Jayden and Ella Rose Powell; her numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to join Eleanor’s Family for a visitation which will be held on Wednesday evening, June 01, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
A Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday, June 02, 2016, at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Joseph P. Elston, officiating.
Those who will be attending the funeral are kindly asked to assemble directly at the church as there will be no procession from the funeral home.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lehman.
