Edward T. Novroski Jr., 66, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 11, 2020, at the Gardens at East Mountain, Wilkes-Barre.
Born on August 26, 1954, in Kingston, Edward was one of three children born to Veronica (Gulla) Novroski, Swoyersville, and the late Edward T. Novroski Sr.
Raised in Swoyersville, Ed was a graduate of West-Side Vocational Technical School, Pringle, Class of 1973.
Prior to his retirement, Ed was employed by Misericordia University, Dallas; the Social Security Administration, Plains Township; and the former Valley Crest Nursing Home, Wilkes-Barre.
Ed was a lifelong member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, now Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. He was also a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion at the Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
A lover of music, Ed was an accomplished drummer and trumpeter, playing with Jolly Joe and the Bavarians; the George Tarasek Band; and the Henry Charles Orchestra. He was also an avid fan of Jeopardy, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Jets, and loved to fish whenever he could.
Ed’s family was the center of his life and his presence will be deeply missed by his mother, Veronica; his sisters, Geraldine (John) Ptashinski, Glen Lyon; and Janet (Anthony) Dombroski, Swoyersville; his nieces and nephews, Tara Dombroski; Ryan Ptashinski, who was his Godson; Karen (Joel) Samuels; and Mark Ptashinski; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jenna Samuels, who was his “birthday buddy”; Lillian Samuels; and Derek Ptashinski; his former wife and friend, Debbie Novroski; his uncle, Thomas Gulla; his lifelong friend and cousin-in-law, John Jagozinski; his dear friend, Dale Evans; and his numerous cousins and friends.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of The Gardens at East Mountain, most especially Ed’s special nurses, Colette, Bobo, and Ed, for the outstanding care they all bestowed upon him during his time of need.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Edward’s viewing which will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville. The Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, his Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Private Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
In keeping with Federal and State guidelines, those attending the viewing are required to wear a facial covering and observe social distancing.
Once restrictions are lifted, the family will host a celebration of Ed’s life.
