Edward S. Evelock, 65, a resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Saturday evening, August 06, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a brief illness.
His loving wife is Jane M. Ludwikowski Evelock. Together, Edward and Jane celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on October 01, 2021.
Born on January 10, 1957, in Wilkes-Barre, Edward was one of two sons born to the late Edward and Irene Zyla Evelock.
Raised in Plymouth, Edward was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1974.
Prior to his retirement, Edward spent his career working for local grocery businesses in the Wyoming Valley.
Edward was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
An avid sports enthusiast, Edward was a great fan of the New York Yankees, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Duke Blue Devils basketball.
Most of all, his greatest joy in life was his family, and he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Jane, Edward is survived by his daughters, Karyn Evelock, Plymouth, and Janine Dudzik and her husband, Garrett, Lansdale; his step-children, Alison Opsitos Hoover and her husband, Michael, Dallas, and Stephen Opsitos, Forty Fort; his grandchildren, Lydia and Ellie Dudzik; his step-grandchildren, David and Sophie Hoover; and his brother, James Evelock, Kingston, New York.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation which will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with a Memorial Mass to commence at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, West Wyoming.
