Edward G. Dudick Sr., 76, a resident of Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life on Monday evening, January 30, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
His beloved wife was the late Anna Lewis Dudick, who passed away on July 14, 2022. Edward and Anna were blessed to share nearly 51 years of marriage.
Born on June 14, 1946, in Passaic, New Jersey, Edward was one of five children born to the late Henry L. Dudick Sr. and Sophia Palka Dudick.
Raised in Sugar Notch, Edward attended local schools, before enlisting in the United States Army and honorably serving his country during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement in 2011, Edward was employed for 40 years as a pipefitter by the former Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., Hanover Township.
A man of faith, Edward was a member of Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Edward has many enjoyments in life most especially enjoying every meal his wife cooked throughout their years together; coaching and umpiring Little League; attending his grandchildren’s activities and games; cheering on his favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins; and going to events at the Kingston Senior Citizens Center.
Above all, Edward will be best remembered for the love and devotion he had for his wife, children, and grandchildren – they were truly the center of his life, and he cherished every moment he shared with them. Although he will be missed beyond measure, there is joy in knowing he is reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Anna, and all his loved ones who had gone before him.
In addition to his parents, Henry and Sophia, and his wife, Anna, Edward was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry “Hank” Dudick Jr., and Robert Dudick; and his sister, Deborah Ann Patronick.
Edward is survived by his four children, Robert Dudick and his wife, Mary Beth, Sheatown; Edward Dudick Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Dallas; Scott Dudick and his wife, Joann, West Wyoming; and Melanie Talutto and her husband, Jason, Dunmore; his six grandchildren, Lucas Dudick, Daniel Dudick, Chloe Dudick, Nicholas Dudick, Johnna Dudick, and Bryce Talutto; and his brother, Richard Dudick and his wife, Lauren, Hudson section of Plains Township.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Edward’s doctor, Richard Huntington MD, for the excellent care he bestowed upon Edward over the years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation which will be held on Tuesday, February 07, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Wyoming Valley Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of Hanover Street and Westminster Street, Wilkes-Barre.
