Edward A. Silvent, 91, a resident of Leesburg, Virginia for the past two months, and formerly of West Wyoming, passed into eternal life Saturday morning, March 14, 2015, at Inova Loudoun Hospital, Leesburg, Virginia.He is joyfully reunited with his beloved wife, the late Marguerite A. (Klisch) Silvent, who passed away on January 22, 2015. Together, Edward and Marguerite celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on June 17, 2014.Born on December 10, 1923, in Sugar Notch, Edward was one of seven children born to the late Mr. Frank Silvent and Mrs. Mary (Good) Silvent.Raised in Sugar Notch, Edward was a graduate of the former Sugar Notch High School.Following high school, Edward enlisted with the United States Army serving for four years during World War II with the 127th Army Air Force Base Unit. He participated in Operation Torch in North Africa, fighting with the 1st Fighter Group against the German Army's Field Marshall, Erwin Rommel, who was ultimately defeated. Edward was decorated with the Presidential Unit Citation, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and the Good Conduct Medal. Upon his honorable discharge on September 03, 1945, he had attained the rank of Sergeant.Edward eventually went on to further his education at Saint Bonaventure University, Saint Bonaventure, New York, where he received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 1953.Prior to his retirement, Edward was employed for many years as a Computer Systems Analyst for Tobyhanna Army Depot.A faithful Catholic, Edward was a longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of the church, he became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.Edward had a passion for gardening, and he regarded his yard as his sanctuary. His specialty was growing various fruit trees, and one of his favorite things to do with the fruit was make homemade wine. He enjoyed traveling outside the valley, particularly to a second home he and Marguerite owned in Phoenix, Arizona. There, they were able to spend more time with their children and grandchildren.A devoted family man, Edward’s life was enriched by the close bonds he maintained with each of his loved ones. Marguerite was the love of his life and they shared a rare and lasting bond. He was a patient and loving father, and his children recall fondly his jokes, his accounts from the War, and his wise quote: “Everything in Moderation.” Although his presence will be deeply missed, he will forever be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.In addition to his parents, Frank and Mary Silvent, and his wife, Marguerite, Edward was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Francis, and John Silvent; his sisters, Helen Kubic, Cecelia Lewecki, and Josephine Martin; his granddaughter, Theresa Jane Morrow; and most recently, his daughter-in-law, Marijke Silvent.Edward is survived by his children, Therese M. Silvent-Schense, Leesburg, Virginia; Margaret A. Morrow, Bear Creek; and Edward F. Silvent, Leesburg, Virginia; his seven grandchildren; and many generations of nieces and nephews.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Richard J.
