Dorothy Jean Cebrick, 78, a resident of Dallas, passed into the arms of the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday evening, April 12, 2015, at her home.Her loving husband is Richard T. Cebrick. Together, Richard and Dorothy shared 56 wonderful years of marriage.Born on September 09, 1936, in Luzerne, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Mary Krysick.Raised in Swoyersville, Dorothy was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1954. She continued her education and became a Certified Tailor and Seamstress.Prior to her retirement, Dorothy owned her own custom drapery business, which she operated out of her home for 25 years. Prior to owning her own business, she worked for ten years as an interior decorating consultant and custom drapery designer for Owen Williams, formerly of Kingston.A devout Catholic, Dorothy was a member of Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church, Shavertown. Dedicated to her church, Dorothy was a longtime member of the parish’s Altar and Rosary Society, serving as its corresponding secretary for many years.Dorothy greatly enjoyed volunteering with the Northeast Genealogical Society, Hanover Township, serving as clerical assistant for some time.A woman of strong faith, Dorothy was sustained by her deep devotion to prayer, praying the rosary daily. She lived her life committed to the kindness and respect of others.A quiet and gentle woman, Dorothy found peace in the simple things of life, such as, tending to the beautiful roses and peonies in her flower garden, working in her sewing room, doing puzzles of all kinds, baking for her family and friends.Dorothy’s greatest love in life was her family which was truly the center of her life. Besides her husband, she was blessed to share a close and unique bond with each of her loved ones. She will forever be remembered as a loving, devoted and selfless wife, incredible mother and loving grandmother. Although her presence will be deeply missed, there is much comfort in knowing she is joyfully reunited with her son and all those who have gone before her.Dorothy’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all the nurses, physicians and support staff for the exceptional care they bestowed upon Dorothy during the last several years of her enduring illness. Aritz and her husband, Emilio “Emil”, Plains Township; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Aritz, Madison, Alabama; Michael Aritz, Plains Township; and Justin Cebrick, Plains Township; her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 10:45 AM, from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 AM in Saint Therese Church, 64 Davis Street, Shavertown, with the Reverend James J.
