Dianne Senchak Callahan, 72, a resident of Swoyersville, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday evening, April 23, 2026, at Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Taylor.
Her husband was the late Joseph J. Callahan who passed away on March 28, 2015.
Born on March 12, 1954, in Kingston, Dianne was one of three children born to the late Nicholas Senchak and Anna Yurchisin Senchak.
Raised in Swoyersville, Dianne was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1972.
A homemaker most of her life, Dianne took great pride in tending to the daily needs of her family. In her earlier years, she was employed as an operator for Bell Telephone Company and as a receptionist for Trion Industries.
Dianne was a faithful member of Saint Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville – her love of God and her church was unceasing.
A woman of many enjoyments, Dianne especially loved tending to her flower gardens and creating needlepoint crafts. With her giving spirit, she donated countless numbers of her needlepoint creations to the Salvation Army every year. Dianne may not have possessed the loudest voice in a room but her quiet gestures of love and compassion were what made her stand out.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Katie Callahan and her companion, Anthony Chalker, Dallas; her brothers, Nicholas Senchak and Robert Senchak, both of Swoyersville; as well as her grandchildren.
Private funeral services were held from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. Services were officiated by the Reverend Father Andrii Dumnych, Pastor of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville, followed by burial in Saint Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.
