Diane Jones, 69, a resident of Pittston, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Cancer Treatment Center of America, Philadelphia, following a valiant battle with cancer.
Her loving husband is Vernon D. Jones. Vernon and Diane celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on April 24th.

As an inspiring singer, songwriter, and entertainer, music and singing were Diane’s lifelong passions. As part of the duo, Windfall, she and husband Vernon have been the featured entertainment for the Wilkes-Barre’s Farmers Market & Children’s Day on Public Square. She started her singing career with the premier jazz group, “The Velvet Touch” and later, sang and played percussion with the notable wedding and party band, “Reflections”.
During Harry Chapin’s Northeastern Pennsylvania’s “Concert for World Hunger”, Diane was privileged to sing Big John’s part in “Mister Tanner”. As leader of the bands “Friends, featuring Diane” & Diane Dixon & Turning Point, her impersonations, performances, and personality captivated audiences at many Pocono Resorts. She has been the opening act for Helen Reddy, Milton Berle, Chubby Checker, and Lee Andrews & the Hearts. For several years the closing night of the Pittston Tomato Festival would not have been complete without her performance. She has performed as Suzy-Q on the Bob Woody Show on W.A.R.M.; and entertained the residents at various assisted living facilities; and so much more.
Besides her passion for music, Diane enjoyed spending time with her pets; playing board games, especially Scrabble; solving puzzles; watching Wheel of Fortune; spending time outdoors with her family; playing the penny slots at Mohegan Sun; and cooking for her family.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Diane cherished every moment she shared with her loves ones. Although Diane’s presence will be greatly missed, her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
