Deborah A. “Debbie” Snyder, 68, a resident of Luzerne, passed into eternal life on Wednesday afternoon, February 08, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
She and her loving husband, Eugene “Pat” Snyder, celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on September 14, 2022.
Born on January 23, 1955, in Kingston, Debbie was one of two daughters born to the late Jack Davies and Florence Romanowski Davies. Her beloved sister, Susanna T. Davies Dunsmuir, passed away on October 16, 2019.
Raised in Swoyersville, Debbie was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1972.
Shortly after the Agnes Flood of 1972, Debbie gained employment with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), working on its disaster response team. She then went on to become employed for 30 years by AAA, Wilkes-Barre, working her way up to the position of territorial manager of emergency road service. Prior to her retirement in 2021, she was employed for 10 years by the Home Depot Distribution Center, Pittston Township, working in its outbound shipping office.
Debbie was a life member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville, and following its closure, she attended Mass at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.
Some of Debbie’s enjoyments in life were cooking and baking for her loved ones; entertaining her family and friends at her home; and occasionally trying her luck at the local casinos. Above all, family brought the greatest joy to Debbie and she cherished every moment she shared with her loved ones.
In addition to her husband, Pat, Debbie is survived by her son, Patrick Snyder, Luzerne; her three step-sons, Jeremy (Renee) Snyder, Fowlersville; Kevin (Karen) Snyder, Rohrsburg; and Jeff (Marsha) Snyder, Ringtown; her two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; as well as her two aunts, cousins, and friends.
