David J. Albosta, 73, a resident of Wilkes-Barre and formerly of Georgia and Texas, passed into eternal life on Saturday afternoon, July 05, 2025, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, with his sisters and brother at his side.
Born on January 06, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, David was one of six children born to the late Paul P. Albosta and Helen R. “Yench” Karbosky Albosta.
Raised in Ashley, David was a graduate of the former Saint Leo’s High School, Ashley, Class of 1969. Following high school, he went on to attend Kings College where he attained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.
For over 25 years, David was employed as a business manager for the Conoco Company, later ConocoPhillips Company, Georgia. He then went on to become employed as an auditor for Costco Wholesale Corporation in Georgia until his retirement eight years ago.
Following his retirement, David settled in La Marque, Texas, until returning to the Wyoming Valley two years ago to be closer to his family.
A man of great faith, David was a member of the former Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch, until moving to Georgia, where he was a member of Saint Philip Benizi Church, Jonesboro, Georgia.
Having countless enjoyments in life, he especially enjoyed traveling; going on walks; working crossword puzzles; playing poker at the Mohegan Sun Casino; watching various sporting events; and rooting on his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.
Above all, David’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his beloved family and friends – he was truly the most loving and caring brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend! Known for his gift of being able to socialize with anyone, as well as his great love of animals, he will be best remembered as an easy going and relaxed man who emanated joy throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, Paul and Helen Albosta, David was preceded in death by his brother, Paul M. Albosta, who passed away on June 03, 1998.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Mark Albosta, Lorton, Virginia; his sisters, Mary Cherkauskas and her husband, Bill, Ashley; Jane Hagenbach and her husband, Bob, Benton; and Nancy Albosta and her companion, James Rusinko, Ashley; as well as generations of nieces and nephews; many cousins; and friends, most especially, Clifton O’Connor and Laura Baker, who both were simply the most amazing friends.
