Daniel J. Goleach, 94, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 23, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
His beloved wife was the late Dorothy M. (Graver) Goleach, who passed away on August 19, 1991.
Born on October 01, 1919, in Swoyersville, Daniel was the son of the late John Goliash and Elizabeth (Tressa) Goliash.
A lifelong resident of Swoyersville, Daniel attended the former Swoyersville High School.
Prior to his retirement, Daniel was employed as a machinist for James Eagen Sons Company, Wyoming. Additionally, he was employed for some time by Knarr Corporation, Wilkes-Barre.
In his younger years, Daniel enjoyed hopping trains with his friends and traveling all over the country. One of his favorite travel destinations was California.
Daniel was an avid reader and had a passion for reading novels by his favorite author, John Steinbeck.
In addition to his parents, John and Elizabeth Goliash, and his wife, Dorothy, Daniel was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.
Daniel is survived by his children, John Goleach, Plains; Daniel Goleach, Powell, Tennessee; and Catherine Williams, Swoyersville; his grandchildren, Kelly Allard, Shickshinny and Daniel Goleach, III, Kingston; his four great-grandchildren; and his nieces.
There will be no public calling hours or funeral service. A private interment will take place in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
