Cristine Lyons McMullen

Cristine Lyons McMullen, 55, a resident of Bear Creek Township, passed into eternal life on Tuesday afternoon, June 06, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Her loving husband is Timothy A. McMullen. Together, Tim and Cris celebrated their 21^st wedding anniversary on January 19^th.

Born on August 21, 1967, in Wilkes-Barre, Cristine was one of two children born to David Lyons and the late Louise Luton Lyons, who passed away on April 14, 2006.

A graduate of the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, Cris went on to further her education at Penn State University, Main Campus, where she acquired her Bachelors Degree in Education. Later, she went on to attend Florida Gulf Coast University where she acquired her Masters Degree in Special Education.

Cris’s 30-year career in education was spread across the states of New Mexico, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

When Cris and her family relocated from Florida to her home state of Pennsylvania, they settled at Lake Aleeda in Bear Creek Township, where Cris enjoyed the quiet peacefulness of her surroundings.

Family and friends were always at the center of Cris’s life and she treasured every moment she shared with her loved ones – she was blessed to be surrounded by love and friendship throughout her short life. Although her presence will be missed beyond words, her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she held dear.

Left to cherish Cris’s memory are her loving husband, Tim; her three beloved children, Helen McMullen and her husband, Chris Biesel, Punta Gorda, Florida; twins, Katelyn McMullen and Matthew McMullen, both at home; her father, David Lyons and his wife, Marilyn, of both Delaware and Florida; her brother, David Lyons and his wife, Jennifer, Plains Township; her niece, Abby Lyons, Plains Township; her countless friends; and her beloved cats, Gibby, Archie, Sophie, Cheese, and Stewart.

Private funeral arrangements for Cris have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
