Christine Marie “Tina” (Lutynski) Macko, 76, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Christine was born in Hudson on September 30, 1941, one of eight children born to the late Charles and Anna (Januszko) Lutynski. She attended St. Joseph Elementary School and was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, class of 1959.
Prior to her retirement, Christine was employed by PC Data Center, and in earlier years had been employed by Eberhard-Faber, Topps Company and Muskin Pools. She was a member of Saint Andrew Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and was previously a member of the former parishes of St. Boniface, Wilkes-Barre, and St. Joseph, Hudson.
Family was the center of Christine’s life and she especially treasured moments spent with her grandchildren. She was a gentle and loving person, always with a kindhearted word and a smile for others. We will miss her sweet and cheerful spirit.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew C. Macko Jr., with whom she shared 39 happy years of marriage, until his death on July 12, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas, Chester and Stephen Lutynski; sisters, Julia Rycki, Dorothy Vearling and Irene Nastawa; father-in-law, Andrew Macko, Sr.; and father-in-law and mother-in law, Stanley and Dorothy (Kiesling Macko) Gluc.
Christine is survived by her sons, Andrew C. Macko III and his wife, Trish, Tunkhannock; and Kenneth J. Macko and his wife, Theresa, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, AC, Nicole, Dana, Shane, Anna, Betsy, Kenneth, Anthony and Robert Macko; sister, Carol Ann Lutynski, Hudson; and step-daughter, Cindy Macko and family, Mountaintop.
Additionally, Christine is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas Vearling; Richard and Carol Macko, Stanley and Judy Gluc; Rose Klepaski; Theresa and Len Kluchinski; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Christine’s family is ever grateful to her sister, Carol Ann Lutynski, for the loving, daily care that she provided to our Mom throughout her illness.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted Saturday at 9:15 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, Saint Andrew Parish, 316 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre, celebrated by Reverend Joseph A. Kearney.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
