Christine A. Dogal, 98, a former resident of Kingston and a six-year resident of the former Mercy Center, Dallas, passed into eternal life on Sunday morning, July 10, 2022, at the Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Exeter, where she resided for the past three weeks.
Her beloved husband was the late Joseph S. Dogal, who passed away on April 06, 2011. Together, Joseph and Christine shared 61 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on April 28, 1924, in Scranton, Christine was one of twelve children born to the late Christian and Katharina (Wahlen) Fey.
A devoted wife and mother, Christine was a stay-at-home Mom as her children were being raised. Often, you would find her in her sewing room working on something for her children and grandchildren. At the age of 47, she attended beauty school and became a licensed cosmetologist, working as a hairdresser alongside her daughter, Jane, at her beauty salon for many years. Later, she worked part-time at Touch of Eyelet, Forty Fort.
Christine was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of the former Sacred Heart Church, Luzerne, and following its closing, she became a dedicated member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. At both church’s, she held membership with their Altar and Rosary Society and served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist.
In addition to her parents, Christian and Katharina Fey, and her husband, Joseph, Christine was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Joseph Dogal; her brothers, Joseph, Christian, Aloysius, and Gerald Fey; and her sisters, Gertrude Burdulis, Madeline Savokinas, Catherine Kubera, Elizabeth Clemens, Louise Brutko, Agnes Stuckart, and Alberta Lampman.
Christine will be deeply missed by her children, Sandy (Gene) Witko, Dallas; Jane (Frank) Ciehoski, Luzerne; Judith (Kyle) Campbell, Bethlehem; Michael (Mary Helen) Dogal, Kingston; Ruth (Frank) Pascucci, Wyoming; Thomas (Stacy) Dogal, Orchard Park, New York; and Trina Dogal, Scottsdale, Arizona; her fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews; and her longtime dearest friend, Cy Miller and his wife, Ann.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Christine’s viewing which will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:15 AM in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Father Shawn M. Simchock, Assistant Pastor, officiating. Friends are kindly asked to assemble directly at the church on Saturday morning.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township.
