Christal A. Jacobs, 78, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, May 03, 2015, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, surrounded by her loving family.Her beloved husband was the late Harry “Pop” Jacobs, who passed away on June 15, 2014. Together, Harry and Christal shared 55 beautiful years of marriage.Born on August 11, 1936, in Pittston, Christal was the daughter of the late Peter and Nellie (Laibinis) Shukstis.Raised in Pittston, Christal was a graduate of the former Pittston Central Catholic High School, Class of 1955.A homemaker most of her life, Christal lovingly tended to the daily needs of her home and family.Christal was a devout Catholic and longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville. Active within her church, she was a member of her parish’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers, with whom she served as secretary for many years. Christal enjoyed helping with the many functions put on by the Christian Mothers, as well as, making pirohy and helping with the church’s annual bazaar. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville.Family was the center of Christal’s life and she cherished every moment she had with her immediate and extended family. Although her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.In addition to her parents, Peter and Nellie Shukstis, and her husband, Harry, Christal was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Kolessar.Christal is survived by her daughters, Gerry Jacobs, Allentown; and Karen Jacobs, West Pittston; her sons, Ron Jacobs, Dallas; and Greg Jacobs and his wife, Anne (Fedor) Jacobs, Mountaintop; her brother, Peter Shukstis, Succasunna, New Jersey; her sister, Elaine Mikolosko, Swoyersville; her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Thursday, May 07, 2015, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J.
