Cheryl A. Lewis, 70, a resident of Kingston, passed into eternal life surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday morning, July 19, 2026, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born on March 10, 1956, in Kingston, Cheryl was one of two daughters born to the late William E. Lewis and Mary T. Grimes Lewis.

Raised in Kingston, Cheryl was a graduate of the former Central Catholic High School, Class of 1974. Following high school, she furthered her education at King’s College, where, in 1978, she acquired her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

At the age of 14, Cheryl began working at the Dairy Queen in Kingston and became a co-owner of the famed Kingston establishment in 2022.

A woman of great faith, Cheryl was a lifelong member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Church, Kingston.

Known for her love of sports, Cheryl was a great fan of the Boston Celtics, the Green Bay Packers, the New York Yankees and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Mary T. Lewis, Kingston; long-time friend, Cheryl Bowers, Kingston; aunt, Ilah Vanyo, New Jersey; cousins, Ilah Applegate and her husband, Daniel, and their sons, Zachary (who was Cheryl’s Godson) and Daniel Jr. and his wife, Katie and their children, Tripp and Josie; Brian Vanyo and his wife, Kim; Kevin Murphy; and Joseph Takarewski; as well as many other cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Cheryl’s services which will begin with viewing on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, and continue there on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 9:15 AM followed by a con-celebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Ignatius Loyola Church, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston, with Monsignor David L. Tressler, her Pastor, serving as the main celebrant.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Ignatius Loyola Cemetery, Pringle.
