Charlotte A. Demko, 75, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, August 21, 2018, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, surrounded by her loving family.
Her beloved husband is George Demko. Together, George and Charlotte celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on July 1st.
Born on July 28, 1943, in Kingston, Charlotte was one of four children born to late Charles and Agnes (Pahl) Hosey.
Raised in Forty Fort and Kingston, Charlotte was a graduate of the former West Side Central Catholic High School.
Prior to her retirement, Charlotte was a self-employed beautician operating her business, Charlotte Demko’s Styling Salon, from her home for many years. In her earlier years, she was employed as a beautician for J.C. Penney’s and the Bon-Ton, both at the Wyoming Valley Mall, Wilkes-Barre.
A woman of great faith, Charlotte attended Mass weekly at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville.
Charlotte was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Swoyersville American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
Charlotte had a keen sense of fashion and was one to always keep up with the times. From her personal appearance to how she kept her home, she was impeccable and stylish. Her inner beauty matched her outer beauty, and the love and devotion she had for her family and friends was boundless and unconditional.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed going on beach vacations with her family, socializing with her friends, shopping, exercising, and bowling.
Family was the center of Charlotte’s life and she cherished every moment she had with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Although her presence will be deeply missed, her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Charles and Agnes Hosey, Charlotte was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard Hosey and Charles Hosey.
In addition to her husband, George, Charlotte is survived by her four children, Lisa Demko, Lafayette Hill; John Demko and his wife, Mary Beth, Kingston; Renee Demko and her companion, David Latoski, Swoyersville; and Nicole Matysik and her husband, Beau, Kingston Township; her seven grandchildren, Tyler Demko, Anthony Spinelli, Saraya Bienkowski, Teagan Bienkowski, Jake Matysik, Ryan Latoski, and Ryder Matysik; her sister, Peggy Gavlick, Swoyersville; her best friend of over 60 years, Nancy Hurley Ruffini, Coatesville; her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends; and her rescue dogs, Katie and Shadow.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, August 27, 2018, at 9:00 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
Family and Friends are invited to Charlotte’s viewing which will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
