Catherine “Kate” Stach, 93, a former resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at the Wesley Village, United Methodist Homes, Jenkins Township, where she had been a resident since August of 2009.
Born on August 13, 1920, in Swoyersville, Catherine was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Krainz) Stach.
Prior to her retirement, Kate was employed as a seamstress for various garment manufacturers throughout the Wyoming Valley.
Kate was a lifelong member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, Kate became member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville.
In addition to her parents, Anthony and Catherine Stach, Kate was preceded in death by her brothers, John Stack and Peter Stach; her sisters, Mary Toon, Anna Hornick and Eva Krapf.
Kate is survived by her sister, Helen Golumbaski, of Swoyersville; her brothers, Anthony Stach, of Swoyersville and Stephen Stach, of West Pittston; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The Family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Wesley Village Campus’ Serenity Unit for all the care and support they provided Kate during her stay there.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, January 06, 2014, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 05, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at the funeral home.
