Carolyn Domanski, 91, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life on Thursday morning, March 28, 2024, at Tiffany Court at Kingston where she was recently a guest.
Her beloved husband was the late Leo J. Domanski who passed away on January 03, 2010. Carolyn and Leo were blessed to share 59 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on February 07, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, Carolyn was one of four children born to the late Hudson Lewis and Lillian Pegg Lewis.
A homemaker most of her life, Carolyn lovingly tended to the daily needs of her family.
Carolyn was a devout member of Saint Robert Bellarmine Parish, Saint Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre. An active member of her church, Carolyn was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, and volunteered for many years at its annual bazaar. She always looked forward to the planning and preparation of countless bake sales and spaghetti dinners with her friends from the Altar and Rosary Society.
Affectionately known to many as “Grandma Sunshine”, Carolyn loved her family and friends as much as they loved her. When she wasn’t spending time with her loved ones or volunteering at her church, she enjoyed watching soap operas. Although her presence will be deeply missed, she will be forever remembered for the love and devotion she had for family, her strong faith, and her warm and welcoming demeanor.
In addition to her parents, Hudson and Lillian Lewis, and her husband, Leo, Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Lehr; and her brother, Harold Lewis.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Karen Zyskowski and her husband, Joseph, Bear Creek Twp.; Deborah Borowski, Tallahassee, Florida; Carol Zimmerman and her husband, Monroeton; and Leo J. Domanski Jr. and his wife, Deborah, Hanover Township; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Lillian O’Malia, Wilkes-Barre; and Linda Owens and her husband, Paul, Plymouth; as well as her nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be celebrated for the immediate family. There will be no public calling hours.
Entombment will be in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
