Caroline A. Aibukas, 86, a resident of Edwardsville, passed quietly into eternal life on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at the Mercy Center, Dallas, where she was a guest for five days.
Her beloved husband was the late John Aibukas, who passed away in 1971. John affectionately referred to Caroline as his “million dollar baby he found in a five and ten cent store”!
Born on July 11, 1931, in Swoyersville, Caroline was the only daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Lacina) Stasko.
Caroline was a graduate of the former Edwardsville High School. Following high school, she went on to further her education at the Wyoming Seminary School of Business.
For over 40 years, Caroline was employed by the former Woolworth’s Department Store at both their Wilkes-Barre and Kingston locations. Working in various capacities throughout her career with Woolworth’s, Caroline served as a manager prior to her retirement.
A faithful Catholic, Caroline was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Church, Kingston.
In addition to her parents, Michael and Anna Stasko, and her husband, John, Caroline was preceded in death by her loving son, John M. Aibukas, who passed away on June 28, 2014; her aunt, Margaret Lacina Monforte; and her uncle, Frank Lacina.
Caroline is survived by her cousins, and her family friend and caregiver, Peggie Monforte Grula, Harvey’s Lake.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 9:00 AM in Saint Ignatius Loyola Church, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston.
Private Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Mass in Saint Mary the Annunciation Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pringle.
Family and Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 8:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass.
Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
