Carole A. Nocek, 74, a resident of West Wyoming, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday morning, June 29, 2014, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Her beloved husband is Chester J. Nocek. Together, Chet and Carole celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 24, 2013.
Born on August 03, 1939, in South Fork, Pennsylvania, Carole was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Sherlock) Robinson.
Raised in South Fork, Carole was a graduate of South Fork-Croyle High School. Following high school, she went on to further her education at College Misericordia, Dallas, where she acquired her Bachelor Degree in Music.
Carole began her career as a teacher in Bergenfield, New Jersey and Richland Township, Pennsylvania. After her marriage to Chet, she taught for a short time for the former Saint Hedwig’s Grade School, Kingston. She then became a full time homemaker, staying at home to raise her children. As her children got older, Carole went back to teaching as a substitute teacher and homebound teacher for Wyoming Area, Wyoming Valley West and Pittston Area School Districts.
A faithful Catholic, Carole was a longtime member of Saint Monica’s Roman Catholic Parish, formerly Our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming.
Carole had a great love and appreciation for music. One of her favorite hobbies was playing the piano.
Family was the center of Carole’s life and she truly cherished every moment she had with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who both held a special place in her heart.
The Family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Timber Ridge Health Care Center and Celtic Healthcare Hospice for the compassionate care they bestowed upon Carole during her time of need.
In addition to her husband, Chester, Carole is survived by her children, Bob Nocek, Durham, North Carolina; and Catherine Latoski and her husband, Ed, Exeter; her grandchildren, Amanda and Kristopher Latoski, both of Exeter; her brother, Paul Robinson and his wife Thelma, South Fork; her sister, Rita Coyne and her husband, Joseph, Vallejo, California; her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Wednesday, July 02, 2014, at 11:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 PM in Saint Monica’s Roman Catholic Parish, 363 West 8th Street, West Wyoming, with the Reverend Joseph J. Adonizio, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
