Carole A. Brek, a resident of Kingston, passed away unexpectedly on her 84th birthday, October 17, 2026, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Her loving husband is Thomas B. “Tim” Brek with whom Carole would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on December 24th. Inseparable from their first meeting, Tim and Carole shared an unconditional love.
Born on October 17, 1942, in Meshoppen, Carole was the daughter of the late Edward Honeywell Sr. and Margaret Goodwin Honeywell.
Carole was a graduate of Wyalusing High School, Class of 1960.
Prior to her retirement, Carole was employed for several years as a dietary aide for Wyoming Valley Healthcare Systems. After retiring, she assisted her husband in his groundskeeping business, Country Gentlemen All Seasons, until his retirement.
A quintessential homemaker, Carole enjoyed spending time at home cooking for her family and canning. She also enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534.
Carole lived for her family and her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – family meant the world to her. She reveled in each moment shared with her loved ones and treasured the memories made on their family beach vacations, especially their trips to the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Her departure from this world leaves an immeasurable void, but the beautiful memories she leaves behind will bring comfort to her loved ones until they are reunited again with her in heaven.
In addition to her parents, Edward and Margaret Honeywell, Carole was preceded in death by her son, Timothy “TJ” Brek, who passed away on April 30, 2016; her father and mother-in-law, Thomas J. and Dorothy L. Brek; and her brothers-in-law, Thomas Gay, Roger Salsman, and Bert Godown.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tim, and children, Thomas Grippo and his wife, Lynn, Towanda; Toni McCarty and her husband, Ron, Wyalusing; and Amy Leonard and her husband, Bill, Kingston; her daughter-in-law, Kelly Brek, Swoyersville; her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward Honeywell Jr., Laceyville; her sisters, Linda Salsman, Tunkhannock, and Cathy Gay, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with a Memorial Service commencing at 11:00 AM.
