Carol S. Monko, 78, a resident of Wyoming, passed into eternal life on Thursday afternoon, August 01, 2024, in the comfort of her home.
Her loving husband is Paul A. Monko, with whom Carol shared 60 years, 7 months, 4 days, and 5 hours of a beautiful marriage.
Born on December 21, 1945, in Swoyersville, Carol was one of eight children born to the late Albert Adamchik and Ann Slipetz Adamchik.
Carol was a homemaker most of her life, lovingly tending to the daily needs of her family. As a mother, she did an outstanding job raising her beloved children.
A devout Catholic, Carol was a faithful member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, praying the Rosary daily.
Carol was kind and genuinely affectionate, welcoming anyone into her family, and never missing an opportunity to embrace her loved ones with a great big hug and kiss – these beautiful qualities led her to be loved by all!
Enjoying the simple pleasures in life, Carol especially enjoyed trips to the beach and rides in the car to see the local scenery; working crossword puzzles; and cooking and baking for her loved ones, especially at the holidays. Above all, her family brought her the most joy in life – most especially her grandchildren – they were her greatest joy! Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but the memory of her love will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Albert and Ann Adamchik, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved 7-month-old son, Paul Allen Monko Jr., who passed away on May 02, 1965; her brother, Richard Adamchik; and her sisters, Mary Cramer and Charmayne Wojciechowski.
Left to cherish Carol’s memory are her husband, Paul; her children, Christopher Monko and his wife, Jill; Lisa Ermert and her husband, Eric, Swoyersville; and Susan Lopuhovsky and her husband, Brad, Swoyersville; her five grandchildren, C.J. Monko and his wife, Rachel; Sarah Monko; Keira Budzyn; Arianna Budzyn; and Isabella Ermert; her two great-grandchildren, Denver Snook and Penelope Grace Monko; her sisters, Alberta Gabel, Perkasie; Ruth Bruno and her husband, Stanley, Concord, North Carolina; her brothers, Albert Adamchik and his wife, Betty, Swoyersville; and Michael Adamchik and his wife, Karen, Kingston; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
The Monko Family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. James Galasso and his staff for their years of outstanding care. They wish to also extend their gratitude to the nurses from both Bayada and Allied Hospice for their wonderful care of Carol during her time of need.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Father James J. Alco, family friend, officiating.
