Carol M. Kotchik, 66, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2015, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Her loving husband is John J. Kotchik. Together, John and Carol celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on January 30th.
Born on January 24, 1949, in Nanticoke, Carol was the daughter of the late Walter and Emma (Wyda) Zalenski.
Carol was raised in Warrior Run, and was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1966.
Prior to her retirement, Carol was employed for twenty years as a billing specialist for Wyoming Valley Healthcare System. She had been working part-time as a billing clerk at Eye Care Specialists, Kingston, most recently.
Carol enjoyed many things in life, especially shopping, reading, and going to the casino. By far, her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, her beloved grandchildren, and most especially her loving husband.
In addition to her husband, John, Carol is survived by her children, Jeffrey Kotchik and his wife, Lori, Chesapeake, Virginia; Richard Kotchik and his wife, Gina, Larksville; and Karen Kotchik Hughes and her husband, Brandon, Swoyersville; her grandchildren, William “Billy” Kotchik, Emma Kotchik, Madilyn Hughes, Peyton Kotchik, and Makayla Kotchik; her sister, Shirley Krzysik, Warrior Run; her brother, Walter Zalenski, Nanticoke; her nieces, nephews, and friends.
At Carol’s request, the funeral service and interment will be privately held for her immediate family members.
