Carol I. Lewis, a resident of Forty Fort, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 18, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Her beloved husband was the late Master Sergeant John M. Lewis, United States Air Force, Retired.
Born in Luzerne, Carol was the daughter of the late Andrew and Beatrice (Kazokas) Masonis.
Carol was a graduate of the former Luzerne High School.
Prior to her retirement, Carol was employed for 25 years as a manager for Kmart Department Store, Edwardsville.
Carol was a member of the Paradise Social Club, Swoyersville, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
Carol had a passion for traveling and she was blessed to travel all over the world during her life.
A wonderful mother and adoring grandmother, family was truly the center of Carol’s life. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and each of them held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents, Andrew and Beatrice Masonis, and her husband, John, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew, Norman, and Edward Masonis; and her sisters, Beatrice Masonis and Marlene DiBuo.
Carol is survived by her three children, Lisa Stone and her husband, Richard, Maryland; Steven Stelma, Swoyersville; and Robert Stelma and his wife, Ami, Kingston; her six grandchildren, Justin, Haley, Kayla, Karaline, Emilee, and Joseph; her sister, Shirley Carter, Forty Fort; her brothers, Jerome Masonis, Virginia; and George Masonis, Hunlock Creek; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Carol’s Blessing Service which will be celebrated on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. The Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, pastor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, will officiate.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Friday, December 22, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Private Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
