Carl L. Domanosky, 81, a resident of Larksville, entered into eternal life on Saturday morning, March 07, 2015, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.His beloved wife was the late Dorothy J. (Saxon) Domanosky, who passed away on August 14, 2012. Together, Carl and Dorothy shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.Born in Swoyersville, Carl was the son of the late Leonard and Mary (Zuba) Domanosky, and was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1950.Following high school, Carl went on to attend Wilkes College. It was during his time at Wilkes College when he received a Congressional appointment by then Congressman Daniel Flood to attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in 1957.After receiving his formal education from the Merchant Marine Academy, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant Junior Grade by the United States Navy, serving in that capacity until his honorable discharge on September 21, 1967.For many years, Carl and Dorothy resided in Forty Fort. In 1985, the couple moved to Palatine Lake, New Jersey, living there for over a decade. After Carl's retirement, they returned to the local area to be closer to their family, residing in Larksville ever since.Carl was employed for 13 years as a Nuclear Engineer for the Public Service Electric and Gas Company, Salem Township, New Jersey, retiring from there. Prior to that, he was employed for many years as a supervisor for Foster-Wheeler, Mountaintop.A devout Catholic, Carl was a longtime member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne.Carl was very proud to hold a life membership with the Harvey’s Lake Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed many trap shooting excursions with his friends over the years.He was meticulous about his landscaping, and took great pride in gardening around his home. He was also extremely handy, and was known to be able to build or fix just about anything.Most of all, Carl was a devoted family man who kept his family circle very tight. He found his greatest joy in traveling with his wife, and spending time with his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. Although his presence will be deeply missed, there is much comfort in knowing he is once again reunited with his wife, Dorothy.In addition to his parents, Leonard and Mary Domanosky, and his wife, Dorothy, Carl was preceded in death by his only brother, Robert Domanosky.Carl is survived by his daughters, Carol Nicholas and her husband, Gary, Courtdale; and Linda Horvath and her husband, Michael, Swoyersville; his grandchildren, Lindsay Ann Butterwick and her husband, Ian; Jonathan M. Horvath and his wife, Paige; Alexander Nicholas, Elizabeth Nicholas; and Matthew Nicholas; his great-granddaughter, Olivia Horvath; and his family and friends.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Michael J.
