Betty M. Zukosky, 94, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Thursday morning, April 19, 2018, at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford, New York, where she resided for the past year.

Her beloved husband of 44 years was the late Chester A. Zukosky, who passed away on November 18, 1995.

Born on December 20, 1923, in Swoyersville, Betty was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Anna C. (Krishock) Kosek.

Betty was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1941.

Prior to her retirement, Betty was employed for 34 years as a data processing clerk for the Social Security Administration, Wilkes-Barre.

A faithful Catholic, Betty was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, and was a longtime member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville.

Betty was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.

In addition to her parents, Joseph and Anna Kosek, and her husband, Chester, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, John Kosek, Joseph Kosek Jr., and William Kosek.

Betty is survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Betty’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, April 23, 2018, at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville. 

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.

In accordance with Betty’s wishes, the viewing will be private for her immediate family.
