Barry Davis, 70, a resident of Plymouth, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening, April 11, 2015, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.His loving wife is Jane J. (Zima) Davis. Barry and Jane would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2015.Born on February 24, 1945, in Kingston, Barry was one of thirteen children born to the late Arthur D. and Mary Rita (Chervenitski) Davis.Raised in Kingston, Barry attended the former Kingston High School.A United States Marine Corps Veteran, Barry honorably served his country for four years during the Vietnam War, and participated in two tours on the battlefields in Vietnam. During his time of service, he was decorated with a Presidential Unit Citation, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Service Defense Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Upon his honorable discharge on December 10, 1967, Barry had attained the rank of Sergeant.Prior to his retirement, Barry was the owner and operator of Barry Davis Plumbing and Heating, Plymouth. Additionally, Barry worked for 12 years as a welder at the Berwick Power Plant. He was a longtime member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Local 90, Scranton.A proud veteran, Barry was a member of the AMVETS and the Disabled American Veterans.Barry enjoyed the simple things in life, such as, playing card games with his family, watching old Western’s, planting his annual garden, and rooting on his favorite team, Penn State.A devoted family man, Barry’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Barry will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.In addition to his parents, Arthur and Mary Rita Davis, Barry was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur, Harry, Warren, Richard, Jimmy, Ned, and Daniel Davis; his sister, Jonelle Hadvance.In addition to his loving wife, Jane, Barry is survived by his son, Barry Davis and his wife, Allison, Shippensburg; his daughter, Jennifer Dixon, Plymouth; his seven grandchildren, Alana, Zachary, Ali, Declan, Brant, Coltin, and Bennett; his brothers, Thomas Davis, Alden; and Andrew Davis, Shavertown; his sisters, Rita Galenty, West Wyoming; and Audrey Emmert, Kingston; his numerous nieces and nephews.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at 9:15 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in Christian and Missionary Church of West Pittston, 317 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston, with the Reverend Donald Strope, Pastor, officiating.Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps.Family and Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.For additional information or to send the Davis Family an online message of condolence, you may visit the funeral home web-site www.wroblewskifuneralhome.com.In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Barry’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
