Barbara Ann Dombroski, 83, formerly of West Wyoming and in more recent years a resident of Noblesville, Indiana, passed into eternal life, surrounded by her family, on Sunday afternoon, December 28, 2025, at Indiana University Health North Hospital, Carmel, Indiana.
Her beloved husband of 46 years was the late Frank John Dombroski D.D.S., who passed away on May 07, 2011.
Born February 05, 1942, in Kingston, Barbara was one of three children born to the late Joseph Shemo and Anne “Anna” Evanich Shemo.
Raised in Forty Fort, Barbara was a graduate of the former Forty Fort High School, Class of 1959. Following high school, she went on to further her education at College Misericordia, now Misericordia University, Dallas, where she acquired her bachelor’s degree in education.
Barbara began her career in education teaching in Fort Riley, Kansas, pausing her career to raise her four boys. Eventually resuming her career, she taught at several Catholic schools for the Diocese of Scranton until her retirement.
A woman of strong faith, Barbara was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Church, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and lector.
Barbara will be remembered for many things such as her love of the shore and long walks, and her excellence at baking and cooking, but the unbounding love and devotion she had for her family will be her lasting legacy. Her life was centered around putting others before herself, especially when it came to her family, and she was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Although her presence will be missed beyond measure, her loved ones will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, Joseph and Anna Shemo, and her husband, Frank, Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Shemo and Richard Shemo.
Barbara will be greatly missed, and the memory of her will be cherished by her four sons, Frank Dombroski and his wife, Meg; Mark Dombroski and his wife, Agnes; Joseph Dombroski; and Timothy Dombroski; her three grandchildren, Katherine, Nicholas, and Mary Dombroski; as well as her much loved extended family members and friends.
