Anne (Bayo) Jacien, 78, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, who spent her winters in Florida and summers in Cape May, passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2016, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Her loving husband is Charles “Jake” Jacien. Together, Jake and Anne celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on November 7th.
Born on September 03, 1938, in Swoyersville, Anne was one of three children born to the late Peter J. Bayo and Julia (Katsock) Bayo.
Anne was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1956. During high school, she was a member of the Cheerleading Squad. Following high school, she went on to study nursing at the former Wyoming Valley Hospital, where she received her Registered Nursing certification in 1959.
Throughout her years as a nurse, Anne was employed by the Visiting Nurses Association, Bayada Home Health Care, Hospice of the V.N.A., the former Valley Crest Nursing Home, and finally as a contract nurse in New Jersey. After retirement she kept busy and continued to work at some of her favorite places including Sea World, Seashore Campsites and the Cape May Lewes Ferry.
A woman of faith, Anne was a longtime member of Cherry Street Bible Church, Plymouth.
While her children were growing up, Anne was active in P.T.O., Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and was one of the original organizers of the Cheerleading Squad for Swoyersville Mini Football.
Anne enjoyed many things in life, especially baking, shopping, family gatherings, trips to the casino and spa, beach vacations, lighthouses, everything Disney, and watching sports.
Above all, family was the greatest joy in Anne’s life, and she treasured every moment she had with her loved ones. Although her presence will be deeply missed, she leaves behind the remarkable legacy of being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
In addition to her parents, Peter and Julia Bayo, Anne was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Jacien; and her brothers, Peter Bayo Jr. and Samuel Bayo.
In addition to her husband, Jake, Anne is survived by her children, Charles Jacien III, Florida; Myron Jacien and his wife, Julia, West Wyoming; Beverly Thomas and her husband, Robert, Swoyersville; and Marcy Jacien and her companion, Patrick Rismondo, Plymouth Township; her grandchildren, Marc Jacien, Morgann Jacien, Jessica DeAngelo, Nicole McGovern, Amanda Thomas, Emily Jacien, and Makaylah Jacien; her eleven great-grandchildren; and her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Lobitz and his staff for the wonderful care he provided Anne over the years. Also, to the doctors, nurses and staff of Timber Ridge Health Care Center; River Run Rehabilitation and Nursing Center; Wilkes-Barre General Hospital; and Compassionate Care Hospice, the family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care they all provided Anne during her time of need.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Anne’s Memorial Service on Friday, November 25, 2016, at 12:00 noon at Cherry Street Bible Church, 55 Cherry Street, Plymouth, with the Reverend James Sienkiewicz, her Pastor, officiating.
The Family will receive family and friends on Friday at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
