Anna T. Wayslow, 95, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Wednesday evening, August 02, 2017, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Inpatient Unit, Dunmore, following a brief illness.
Her beloved husband was the late Stephen A. Wayslow, who passed away on January 17, 1993. Together, Stephen and Anna shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on August 20, 1921, in Swoyersville, Anna was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Federowicz) Cieslowski.
A faithful Catholic, Anna was a lifelong member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. Active within her church, Anna was a member of the parish’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers, serving as its Past President, and its Sacred Heart Society, serving as its Past President as well. Additionally, she was a member of the parish choir from the time she was a young lady. Following the consolidation of her church, Anna became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Anna was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville, as well as the Swoyersville Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, Joseph and Anna Cieslowski, and her husband, Stephen, Anna was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Cieslowski and Edward (Cieslowski) Chesley; and her sister, Victoria Kuchinskas.
Anna is survived by her loving daughters, Stephanie Krehely and her husband, Robert, Plains Township; and Bernice Kostelansky, Plains Township, and Robert Burry; her six grandchildren, Rob (Ame) Krehely; Brad (Alison) Krehely; Michael (Cynthia) Kostelansky; Melissa McKenzie; Michelle Kostelansky; and Marc Kostelansky; her seven great-grandchildren, Jared, Jack, William and Elizabeth Krehely; Anna McKenzie; Caroline and Stephen Kostelansky; her brother, John (Cieslowski) Chesley and his wife, Gloria, Westminster, Maryland; her many treasured nieces and nephews; as well as her dear neighbor and adopted daughter, Geraldine “Gerry” Rish, Swoyersville.
At Anna’s request, a private family viewing and funeral will be held today, Saturday, August 05, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
