Anna Regina Harowicz Palmentera, 95, a resident of Swoyersville, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Her first husband of 14 years was the late Adam S. Harowicz, who passed away in 1960. Her second husband of 26 years was the late Anthony Palmentera, who passed away in 1989.
Born on January 04, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre, Anna was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Holecz) Benish.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Anna was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1940.
Until the age of 80, Anna was employed by McDonald’s, at their Edwardsville location. Prior to that, she was employed as a wrapper by the former General Cigar Company, Kingston.
Anna was a member of Saint Therese’s Roman Catholic Church, Shavertown, and was an active member of the Kingston Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, John and Julia Benish, and her husbands, Adam Harowicz and Anthony Palmentera, Anna was preceded in death by her son, John Harowicz, who passed away in 1996; her brothers, Peter and Joseph Benish; and her sisters, Mary Greytock and Helen Cavanaugh.
Anna is survived by her children, Marguerite Butler, Horseheads, New York; Joann Ford and her husband, Mark, Ashville, North Carolina; Patricia Harowicz, Deland, Florida; Anthony Palmentera and his companion, Jeff Matthews, Ravenna, Ohio; and Anne Haughwout, Swoyersville; her 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren; as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Anna’s Blessing Service with the Rite of Committal which will be celebrated on Monday, June 18, 2018, at 7: 15 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend James J. Alco, officiating.
Family and Friends are invited to Anna’s viewing which will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
Anna will be laid to rest privately on Tuesday morning in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.
