Anna Kuchemba, 94, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 06, 2018, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a brief illness.
Her beloved husband was the late Leonard A. Kuchemba, who passed away on December 31, 2010. Together, Leonard and Anna shared 60 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on May 14, 1924, in Swoyersville, Anna was one of six children born to the late Stanley and Agnes (Swintz) Dziekan.
Raised in Swoyersville, Anna was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1941.
A devoted homemaker most of her life, Anna was also employed as a secretary for the Forty Fort State Bank, working there for 12 years.
Anna was a faithful Catholic and a lifelong member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. Additionally, she held membership with the Swoyersville Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, Stanley and Agnes Dziekan, and her husband, Leonard, Anna was preceded in death by her son-in-law, S. Roy Corle; her brothers, Peter Dziekan, John (Dziekan) Jaken, Stanley (Dziekan) Jaken, and Joseph (Dziekan) Jaken; and her sister, Helen Dziekan Kuchemba.
Anna is survived by her three children, Elaine Stefanko and her husband, Ralph, Larksville; Alice Corle, Bedford; and Dr. Leonard Kuchemba and his wife, Debbie, Shavertown; her grandson, Alex Corle; her special nieces, Kathy Yamrus and her husband, John; and Carol Savakinus; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Sunday, June 10, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
