Alberta Yagojinski, 90, a longtime resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Wednesday evening, August 02, 2017, at ManorCare Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, where she was recently a guest.
Her beloved husband was the late Joseph J. “Yagi” Yagojinski, who passed away on September 03, 2015. Together, Yagi and Alberta shared 65 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on June 26, 1927, in Swoyersville, Alberta was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Shedlock) Kosko.
Alberta was a graduate of the former Luzerne High School.
Prior to her retirement, Alberta was employed by the former Duplan Silk Mill, Kingston, and the former Rex Shoe Company, Exeter.
A faithful Catholic, Alberta was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne.
In addition to her parents, John and Anna Kosko, and her husband, Joseph “Yagi” Yagojinski, Alberta was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and John Kosko; and her sisters, Elizabeth Federici, Margaret Supey, Anne Halowich, Mary Carlin, and Helen Gurnari.
Alberta is survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; as well as her dear friends and caregivers, Joann, Kathy and Rachel.
The Family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of both ManorCare Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Heartland Hospice, for the kind and compassionate care they bestowed upon Alberta during her time of need.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 08, 2017, at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Walter E. Jenkins CSC, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Courtdale.
In keeping with Alberta’s wishes, the viewing will be private for her immediate family members.
