Agnes D. Schnelly, 89, formerly of Dana Street, Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Wednesday evening, October 02, 2019, at the Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a guest for the past five years.
Her beloved husband was the late Joseph P. Schnelly, who passed away on March 02, 2005. Joseph and Agnes were blessed to share 52 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on December 16, 1929, in Swoyersville, Agnes was one of three children born to the late Andrew and Pauline (Pavlick) Walko.
Residing in Swoyersville most of her life, Agnes was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School.
Prior to her retirement at the age of 83, Agnes was employed for over twenty years in the cafeteria at Heights Murray Elementary School, Wilkes-Barre. In her earlier years, she was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry.
A faithful Catholic, Agnes was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, where she sang in the parish choir.
Family was the center of Agnes’ life and she treasured every moment she shared with her loved ones. She most especially adored her granddaughter and great-grandchildren as they held a very special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents, Andrew and Pauline Walko, and her husband, Joseph, Agnes was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Thomas Walko.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Paula Schnelly and her husband, Vincent Seiwell, Swoyersville; her granddaughter, Angela Schnelly and her partner, Rasool Breeden; her great-grandchildren, Laila and Elijah Schnelly; as well as generations of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Tuesday, October 08, 2019, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Walter E. Jenkins C.S.C., her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Family and Friends are invited to attend Agnes’ viewing which will be held on Monday, October 07, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
