William Michael Lewis Jr., 52, a resident of Dallas, entered into eternal rest on Saturday afternoon, February 21, 2015, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.Born on June 10, 1962, in Kingston, William was the son of Mary Elizabeth (Stahovec) Lewis, of Forty Fort, and the late William Michael Lewis Sr.Bill was a graduate of the former Bishop O’Reilly High School, Kingston, Class of 1980.Following high school, Bill followed in his father’s footsteps by enlisting in the United States Air Force, honorably serving his country for four years. Upon his honorable discharge on September 21, 1984, he attained the rank of Sergeant.Prior to his retirement two years ago, Bill was employed for twenty-six years as a corrections officer for the State Correctional Institution at Dallas. He also served as the past President of AFSCME Local 2496 Dallas Correctional Officers Union.A proud veteran, Bill was a member of the American Legion, Post 672, Dallas. Bill was also an avid sports fan, enjoyed riding his bike, and was always the first in line to lend a hand when needed.Bill’s greatest enjoyment by far was spending time with his loved ones. He was a wonderful and generous uncle to his nieces and nephews, and was referred to as “Favorite Uncle Bill” by all of them.In addition to his mother, Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Bill is survived by his sisters and brothers, Elizabeth Lewis, Austin, Texas; Daniel Lewis, Freemont, California; Leo Lewis and his wife, Dawn, Marshalls Creek; Thomas Lewis, Pompano Beach, Florida; and Mary Lacy and her husband, James, West Chester; his numerous nieces, nephews and friends; his dear friends, Rhoda, Brent and Pattee.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 9:30 AM, from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J.
